I have worked in all aspects of the marine field for 25 plus years. My roles have been as project manager, marine superintendent and captain on a variety of sailing yachts and ships, built of both wood and steel. I have sailed to Antarctica as engineer on a small(103') research vessel and led the restoration of a Herreshoff classic. I worked in the commercial maritime world of tugs, freighters and tankers, in my youth.

I have loved the sea and sailing my entire life and have been fortunate in being able to make it my career. I remain an active sailor, participating in the Newport Bermuda race 7 times, the Marblehead Halifax race 5 times and sail actively in New England and the Pacific.
Sailing and life at sea is one of the few arenas where vocation and avocation meet. I have been surveying full time for more than 10 years and regard it as a natural progression from what has gone before.I bring my life's experience at sea to every vessel I survey and feel that this experience brings great depth and a practical eye to marine surveying.
